Tru-Pull® Lite Knee BraceTru-Pull® Lite Knee Brace

Introduction

The patented Tru-Pull® LITE patellofemoral knee brace is ideally suited for adult patients with mild subluxation, mal-tracking, and patella arthritis. It boasts a patented ‘Dual Durometer Buttress System’ that interfaces directly with the skin at the knee providing a soft and tacky interface with the patella, thus applying a consistent corrective force. Just 1.27cm thick and lightweight, this brace is a powerful product in a small size, therefore ideal for the female patient or just anybody needing the strength of the Tru-Pull patented system, but not wanting the bulk or length of the current Tru-Pull Advanced System.

It is made from breathable, anti microbial moisture wicking fabric, this brace also provides the ultimate in patient comfort and compliance.

The new DonJoy® TRU-PULL LITE features a single, pre-bent, hinged upright designed to ensure consistent off-loading through a patient's range of motion, low profile, lightweight, and comfortable Breath-O-Prene® and MicroMesh fabrics, and arthritis friendly features.

Indications

• Ultimate support for patellofemoral malalignment, subluxation and dislocations during sporting activities.

Information on Ordering

How do you avoid a mistake when ordering for your patient?

Choose the right size by marking the mid point of the patella with the patient standing in the schuss position. Measure the circumference of the thigh at 15cm above this point.

Before you choose from the drop down list write down your patient's side and size.

x=1=XS=33-39 cm
x=2=S=39-47 cm
x=3=M=47-53 cm
x=4=L=53-60 cm
x=5=XL=60-67 cm
x=6=XXL=67-75 cm
x=7=XXXL=75-81 cm

Tip on the use of drop down menus

After you have chosen, click off the menu and unbold the choice before you roll your mouse wheel because you might inadvertantly change your choice with the roll of the wheel.

Anterior Knee Pain

Orthopaedicsand Trauma.com asked John Hardy about the management of anterior knee pain.

John is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Specialist in London and Bristol in the UK. John is one of 34 Consultants who have opened the new Private London Clinic in the Kings Road, London.

John told OrthopaedicsandTrauma.com "The key to the treatment of anterior knee pain is a thorough diagnosis. Anterior knee pain is usually due to abnormal stresses acting through the patello femoral joint. These peak stresses may be due to mal tracking, a torn ligamentum mucosum, plica syndrome, or a post traumatic injury. This means that to offer the correct treatment the cause of the pain in your patients should be elicited first. After taking a full history and performing an examination of spine, hip, knee, ankle, foot and gait I organise further investigations depending on my clinical diagnosis. MRI is a must to elicit the stage of degenerate change in the patella articular cartilage or the trochlea articular cartilage. For those patients with grade 0 or 1 chondromalacia I try physiotherapy and patella taping. If this works I recommend one of the Donjoy braces. The Tru-Pull Lite seems to be popular at the moment. There is good evidence that they make a difference to symptoms in your patient when the correct diagnosis has been made." (Powers CM, Ward SR, Chan LD, Chen YJ, Terk MR.
