Introduction


Aircast unveils the new standard of care in next generation ankle stirrups. For over 30 years the Aircast Air-Stirrup has been the ankle brace of choice for medical professionals worldwide. With its patented Duplex Aircell System, the Air-Stirrup is clinically proven (cited in over 100 medical journals) to promote efficient oedema reduction and to help accelerate rehabilitation. The distal aircell is encased in the proximal aircell creating a dual air chamber effect which further enhances circulation. Unlike a single aircell, in which the air pressure is uniform, the dual aircell generates a pulsating effect causing the oedema and swelling to move up the leg during ambulation.

Studies have shown that after five days of wear, the oedema has significantly decreased with the Air-Stirrup II. Research has also shown that long-term function and joint stability achieved by wearing the Aircast Air-Stirrup is equal to the results achieved with surgery, without any treatment-related complications. It is also a more cost-effective method.

Often copied, but never equalled, the Air-Stirrup's design means only one adjustable brace is required during the whole recovery process, providing the ankle with ROM, reducing swelling and removable for ease and hygiene reasons.

• Combined lateral ligamant sprains grade 1-3
• Rehabilitation after lateral collateral ligamant reconstruction
• The Pediatric Ankle Brace is designed for children 2 to 6 years of age and is ideal for ankle stabilisation in hemophilia patients to preserve the ankle joint or after complex periarticular ligamant surgery.

Select size according to your patient's height and put a tape measure at the side of their ankle to confirm the suitable size:
Small brace length is 21.6cm (8.5")
Medium brace length is 23.5cm (9.25")
Large brace length is 26.7cm (10.5")
